Master Fu Xianghong embroiders at her workshop in Guangfu Town in Wuzhong District of Suzhou, East China’s Jiangsu Province. Fu and her daughter Fu Hanlu were from a long line of traditional embroidery. In 2015, Fu Xianghong was appointed as a representative master of Suzhou embroidery, which was listed as one of Suzhou’s intangible heritages. Her works of unique style combining practicality and artistry were ever presented during Beijing Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.

‘Lusheng’ Celebration Held In Zhouxi Town, Guizhou Province

Thousands of ethnic Miao people from Kaili and nearby counties get together at Gannangxiang to rejoice in the annual Gannangxiang celebration, one of the largest-scale and most primitive Miao lusheng celebrations in the Province. In Miao language, Gannangxiang signifies the lower reaches of rivers and home to immortals.

Beijing To Invest 49 Billion In Key Projects

Beijing will invest 235.4 billion yuan (49.3 billion AUD) in 300 key projects focusing on infrastructure construction, improvement of people’s livelihoods and high-tech industries this year, director of the city’s Development and Reform Commission Tan Xuxiang said in a conference presentation. The total number of projects for the improvement of residents’ livelihoods, such as hospitals and affordable housing, doubled from 57 in 2018 to 100 this year. The city will also build 10 demonstration business streets, breed 100 chain enterprises, and create 1,000 service outlets for residents this year, according to the project list.

Photo taken on March 13, 2019 shows the Yongtong Bridge in Beijing, which was built in 1446. It is a cultural relic under state protection and also part of the Grand Canal, a vast waterway and a UNESCO world culture heritage site. A new bridge has been constructed that will soon be put into use, diverting vehicle traffic from the historical bridge, which will receive better conservation.
